The vision of JACOA is to be reposed to the ever changing and dynamic needs of our community environment to treat and prevent the diseases of addiction and drug abuse through services to all people, with programs and services that improve the quality of life of the individual and our society.

About JACOA Mission The Mission of JACOA treatment programs is to provide outcome effective services to reclaim the potential of persons who have become addicted (dependant upon) alcohol and other mind altering drugs. History JACOA was chartered in the Spring of 1964 as The Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism. The Charter of incorporation was the beginning of an answer to dreams and prayers. Prior to JACOA, there were virtually no resources in Rural West Tennessee to treat persons addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs. The Charter was amended in 1970 to add the words "And Drug Dependency". Community Services
