About JACOA

Mission

The Mission of JACOA treatment programs is to provide outcome effective services to reclaim the potential of persons who have become addicted (dependant upon) alcohol and other mind altering drugs.

History

JACOA was chartered in the Spring of 1964 as The Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism. The Charter of incorporation was the beginning of an answer to dreams and prayers. Prior to JACOA, there were virtually no resources in Rural West Tennessee to treat persons addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs.
